Women · Enable her
A skill becomes income when it reaches a market.
She can already make it. What she needs is a customer, a fair price and someone to help her get there.

Help a woman turn what she can make into what she can earn.
The problem
The gap between making and selling.
Between a finished product and an income sits everything she was never taught: what to charge, how to present it, who buys it, how to reach them, and how to keep a record so she knows whether she is actually earning. Without that, good work is sold at a poor price to whoever happens to ask.
- 01No pricing basis, so the work is undersold.
- 02No packaging or presentation.
- 03No route to customers beyond the immediate village.
- 04No records, so profit is invisible.
Why it matters
An income she controls changes her standing at home, her ability to absorb a shock, and what she can decide for her children. It is also the point at which capability starts to circulate: a woman earning locally usually pulls another woman in behind her.
Who this is for
- Women who have completed skill training and want to earn
- Women already producing but selling at a poor price
- Self-help group members without market access
- Women who need an income from home
What Ujjwala does
How the work actually runs.
Train
Business basics she will actually use — costing, pricing, simple records, and how to talk to a buyer.
Make
Product support: consistency, quality and finishing, so what leaves her hands can be sold more than once.
Market
Presentation, packaging and the story of the product — including our own social-enterprise channel where appropriate.
Sell
Connection to real buyers: local outlets, exhibitions, bulk orders and online routes where they exist.
Grow
For those who want to go further: working-capital planning, hiring the first helper, and taking a second woman along.
What makes this different
- Market access is treated as part of the program, not a hopeful afterthought.
- Pricing and record-keeping are taught before scale, so she can see whether it works.
- Our own social-enterprise channel can carry products where it helps.
- We do not promise a business or an income to every participant.
Why now
The work is ready. Funding decides how far it goes.
What is ready
Women trained in earlier rounds are producing now and asking where to sell. Buyer conversations are open.
What funding unlocks
Funding turns finished products into actual orders through market and mentoring support.
What delay costs
A woman who cannot sell what she made stops making it. Momentum lost at this exact point is the most expensive thing that can happen to a skilling program.

Questions donors ask
Before you give, ask us anything.
Will every woman end up with a business?
No. Some will earn steadily, some occasionally, some will decide it is not for them. We support the path; we do not guarantee the outcome.
Do you give women loans or working capital?
We do not lend money. Support is training, product help, market access and mentoring. Where working capital is genuinely needed we help her plan and reach appropriate options.
Who owns what she makes?
She does. Products are hers. Where we help sell through our own channel, the arrangement is explained to her in advance.
What kinds of products are involved?
Largely stitched and textile goods, food products and handmade items that can be produced from home and sold locally or through exhibitions and online routes.
Does she need to have done the skill training first?
No. Women already producing can join at this stage. The three women's campaigns are connected, not sequential requirements.
How are beneficiaries selected?
Selection is done on the ground, household by household, by the trustees and field volunteers who already work in these villages. Need, willingness to participate and the ability to sustain the next step after our support ends are all considered. There is no fee, no broker and no political or community reference required.
How are the funds used?
Contributions to a campaign are pooled and applied to that campaign's work — materials, training, field delivery and the coordination it takes to reach a village. Every rupee is recorded in our expenditure register, and our registration certificates and financial records are shared on request.
What happens if the funding target is not met?
We deliver at the scale the funding allows. A partially funded campaign is not abandoned — it runs with fewer households in this round and continues into the next. We do not hold money idle, and we do not move it to a different cause without telling you.
Can I choose which campaign my donation supports?
Yes. Giving from this page attributes your donation to this campaign in our ledger. If you would rather we apply it where the need is greatest, use the General Fund on the donate page.
Can I give monthly instead?
Yes. Predictable monthly support is the most useful kind of funding we receive because it lets us commit to a household before the money has fully arrived. You can set that up on the Give Monthly page.
Will I receive updates on this work?
Yes. Donors receive program updates as the work moves — what was delivered, where, and what we learned. We do not pass your details to anyone else and you can stop the updates at any time.
How can I verify Ujjwala Foundation?
We would prefer that you did. Ujjwala Foundation is a registered society in Telangana with tax registrations under the applicable provisions of the Income-tax Act and a CSR-1 filing. Certificates, PAN, registration numbers and governance details are published on our Trust page.
Will I get a donation acknowledgement?
Yes. Once the payment gateway confirms your payment, an acknowledgement with your reference number is generated and emailed to you automatically.
