Our story
We started because one setbackkept deciding too much.
Ujjwala Foundation is a registered society based in Bibinagar, Telangana. The trustees began by funding the first programmes themselves — sanitary pads and hygiene sessions in government schools, learning materials for children, nutrition kits carried into tribal villages, support for expecting mothers, financial-awareness sessions for rural women, and grocery kits when Hyderabad flooded in September 2025.
Three years of that work taught us one thing above everything else: the families we met were rarely facing a single problem. A missed season, a hospital bill, a child falling behind — each one made the next one heavier. So we stopped thinking in programmes and started thinking in next steps.
Today we work with villages across rural Telangana to help people take that next step — and we ask for support only for work that is already prepared to begin.

Where we work
Rural Telangana — village by village.
Our registered office is in Bibinagar, and most of our fieldwork happens in the villages and government schools around it and across neighbouring districts. Nutrition kits have gone into tribal habitations that are hard to reach by road. When Hyderabad flooded, we worked in the city itself.
We publish district-level coverage in each programme record. We do not publish household lists or the names of the people we work with without their consent.
Government schools
Menstrual-hygiene supplies and learning materials, across multiple districts.
Tribal villages
Nutrition kits, delivered with local health workers, widened in Year 3.
Rural women's groups
Financial-awareness sessions that grew into a full curriculum.
Hyderabad, September 2025
300 grocery kits during the floods — help moved fastest where someone local already knew the households.
Leadership & governance
Run by trustees who fund the work themselves.
Trustee profiles, the governing body and our policies are published on the Trust page as each is approved for publication. Nothing there needs to be taken on trust — certificates are downloadable.
