Ujjwala Foundation — Igniting Hope. Transforming Lives.

Legal & compliance

Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of ujjwalafoundation.org and any donation, monthly mandate or purchase you make through it. By using the site you accept them.

Effective 27 August 2026 · Ujjwala Foundation

1. The organisation

This website is owned and operated by Ujjwala Foundation, a Registered society, Telangana Societies Registration Act, 2001, Certificate of Registration No. 513 of 2022, PAN AAABU1619F, with its registered office at 2-144/1/A, Mudhiraj Colony, Bibinagar, Nalgonda, Telangana 508126, India.

2. Donations

  • All donations are voluntary and are made in Indian Rupees (INR) from Indian sources only.
  • Ujjwala Foundation does not hold registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. We cannot accept foreign contributions, and no facility on this site is offered for them.
  • A donation is treated as received only when the payment aggregator confirms settlement to the foundation's bank account. A pending, failed or reversed payment is not a donation.
  • Where you choose a specific programme, your donation is applied to that programme. Where a programme is fully funded, is not yet operational, or cannot be delivered as designed, the trustees may apply the funds to the nearest comparable purpose and will say so on request.
  • Donations to the General Fund are unrestricted and are deployed across programmes and the operating costs that make delivery possible.

3. Monthly giving and mandates

  • A monthly gift is set up as an authenticated mandate (UPI AutoPay, eNACH or card standing instruction) through the payment aggregator. You authorise the stated amount, frequency and validity at the time of authentication.
  • You may pause or cancel a mandate at any time by writing to us, or through your bank or UPI application. Please allow up to five working days before the next debit date.
  • A debit already collected before cancellation is treated as a completed donation.

4. Receipts and tax

A receipt is issued by email for every settled contribution. Our income-tax registration u/s 332(8) and donation approval u/s 354(4) are provisional orders, valid for tax years 2026-27 to 2028-29; signed copies are published on our transparency pages. Eligibility for any deduction depends on the applicable provisions and on your own tax position — nothing on this site is tax advice, and you should confirm your claim with your tax adviser.

5. Ujjwala Market purchases

  • Items in Ujjwala Market are produced by or on behalf of the communities we work with. Prices shown are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise on the product page.
  • Handmade items vary in colour, weave, weight and finish. Such variation is a characteristic of the product and not a defect.
  • An order is confirmed only after the payment aggregator confirms settlement. We may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, where an item is unavailable or where the delivery address is not serviceable.
  • Delivery, cancellation and refund terms for purchases are set out in the Shipping & Delivery Policy and the Cancellation & Refund Policy.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate name, email, mobile number and — for deliveries — a complete address. We are not responsible for a receipt or shipment that fails because of details entered incorrectly.
  • Use a payment instrument you are lawfully entitled to use.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, probe, scrape or gain unauthorised access to the site or to donor data.

7. Intellectual property

The name Ujjwala Foundation, our logo, text, photographs, illustrations and page designs are owned by the foundation or used with permission, and may not be reproduced commercially without written consent. You may quote or share our published material with attribution.

8. Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided in good faith and on an as-is basis. To the extent permitted by law, Ujjwala Foundation is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, from a payment aggregator or network failure outside our control, or from reliance on programme descriptions that state they are still in development.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
